Five years of greatness, five years of lateness.
Five years of friends, five years of dead-ends.
Five years of quality, five years of frivolity.
Five years of players, five years of failures.
Five years of rewards, working towards awards.
Five years of Jmt Studios.
Five years, wow, time has gone by fast. It feels like yesterday when I released Unofficial Egg Hunt 2013, or when we got our first front-page game, Unofficial Trick or Treat 2014. But now it’s 2017, and we are celebrating our 5th anniversary with the birth of this great studio. And boy, do we have a treat (and some eggs too) for you. Today I would like to introduce to you, our 5th-anniversary event.
“All great things must come to an end.”
As of Unofficial Trick or Treat 2015 re-release, Jmt Studios Events have officially come to an end. I would like to thank everyone who participated in our holiday events, whether it be our original Unofficial Egg Hunt series, or our top-hit Unofficial Trick or Treat series, we couldn’t have done it without you! Events were a huge part of Jmt Studios, racking up most of the revenue and visits out of all our games produced by our studio. In remembrance and respect to Jmt Studios Events, we will be doing an “Events In Review” post here today, so let’s get right into it.
It’s coming back, and it’s better than ever! No, this blog post is not a mistake. Yes, we mean Unofficial Trick or Treat 2015, and yes, it’s coming back. But where is Unofficial Trick or Treat 2016? Where is that new full game you guys are working on? Well, let us explain ourselves. There will not be any “Unofficial Trick or Treat 2016” as we have stopped developing new event games, and yes, we are still working on our new full game that will be a replacement for our event games we usually do. Since this new game we are working on will not be released for a while, we decided not to keep our fans and community waiting and bored, so we decided to update Unofficial Trick or Treat 2015 and re-release it!
Hello, everyone! So as some of you may know, in late February, we officially announced our next upcoming event game: Unofficial Egg Hunt 2016, and we are here today to introduce it to you. Unofficial Egg Hunt 2016 is a big step from our previous egg hunt, and also a big step in our games. For the first time ever, we have developed for and now 100% support filtering enabled in our games. What is filtering enabled you may ask? Well, it’s a simple change in your game that makes it so client changes are not replicated back to the server and to other clients (this is not simple to implement and your game usually needs to be scripting in a totally different way, that’s why we never had it before). This means that exploiting is cut down a whole bunch (if not completely). Our previous games did not support filtering enabled at all and were very prone to exploiters. Some other egg hunt specific improvements is a brand new egg spawning system. Our previous egg hunts used only random spawn points to spawn eggs. In 2016, we now have implemented spawn zones which make the spawning even more random. Spawn zones are not limited to specific points in the world but rather to specific zones/areas and random points inside those zones.
